Lucian Firth is a partner at Simmons & Simmons, the international law firm and is based in London. andy fisch photoAndrew Fisch is a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager at Investcorp Investment Advisers, who recently acquired the Multi-Manager business of SSARIS Advisors. His responsibilities include portfolio construction, manager selection, research, due diligence, monitoring and sits on the investment committee.

The alternative Investment Solutions business at Investcorp runs Multi-Manager Solutions, Alternative Risk Premia, Hedge Fund Seeding, Co-Investments and Special Opportunity Portfolios.

Mr. Fisch has been in the hedge fund and alternatives industry for 30 years.

Prior to the Investcorp acquisition he was Chief Investment Officer, Fund of Funds at SSARIS Advisors. SSARIS had three principal areas of business.  Fund of Hedge Funds, Fund of Funds Advisory and Single Strategy systematic trading.

Prior to joining SSARIS, he was a founding partner at Aurum Capital Management where he managed the Aurum Venture Fund (Venture Capital) and developed hedge fund of funds products.

From 1989 through 1996 he was a portfolio manager for Swiss asset manager Controlfida.  There he managed their long/short U.S. Equity Fund, enhanced with options and index futures.   For the five years preceding his efforts for Controlfida,  he worked for Victor Sperandeo at Hugo Securities as a proprietary trader for that firm¹s multi-strategy hedge fund.

Mr. Fisch has served on several corporate boards, and holds NASD series 24 and 7 licenses. He studied Economics at Hobart College and was admitted to Honors in Economics in 1981.

 

 

 


Sharon Flescher

IFAR

Sharon Flescher is the Executive Director of the International Foundation for Art Research (IFAR) and Editor-in-Chief of the quarterly IFAR Journal.  A graduate of Barnard College, Dr. Flescher holds Masters Degrees in both English literature and art history and has a Ph.D. in art history from Columbia University. She also attended the Wharton School of Business. Her professional career has straddled the academic, business and nonprofit worlds. In addition to her work at IFAR, she is an Adjunct Associate Professor at New York University (NYU).

Prior to joining IFAR in 1998, she was Director of Grants and Programs at The Equitable (now AXA) Foundation; a Program Officer at National Endowment for the Humanities, and Director of Institutional Relations at the Central Park Conservancy. She also taught at Brooklyn College, the City University of New York, and worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Her numerous media appearances include BBC, NPR, CBS, ABC “Nightline”, and the NBC “Today Show,” and she has been frequently quoted in the New York Times, the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal,  The Art Newspaper, Art & Auction, and many other publications. Dr. Flescher has served on advisory roundtables for the U.S. State Department, the CIA, and the National Archives and Records Administration.  She conceived IFAR’s two major online resources, the Catalogue Raisonné Database and the Art Law & Cultural Property Database, for which she remains Project Director, and she co-authored its online Provenance Guide.

Greg Florio

Gregory L. Florio is a Founding Partner of Florio, Scally & Leahy LLP and a Founding Member of Orical LLC (collectively, the “Firm”), with over 18 years of legal and regulatory experience.  Mr. Florio is an expert in compliance programs as well as regulatory examinations and investigations for both investment advisers and broker-dealers.  He has extensive experience forming and registering investment funds in state, federal, and numerous foreign jurisdictions. Mr. Florio helps Firm clients establish compliance manuals, including Codes of Ethics, supervisory procedures, and operational controls.  On an ongoing basis, he provides operations reviews, audits compliance programs, and tests the adequacy and implementation of policies, procedures, and clients’ compliance programs as a whole.  Mr. Florio also directs the Firm’s technical solutions effort, which maintains, augments, and customizes each client’s compliance and monitoring capabilities.

Before founding the Firm in 2010, Mr. Florio was a senior counsel and the Chief Compliance Officer of a multi-billion dollar global fund manager, Marathon Asset Management, LP.  At Marathon, Mr. Florio administered and enhanced all aspects of the firm’s global compliance program, including transitioning the program to an electronic-based, state-of-the-art system.  In addition to handling all regulatory audits, inquiries, and filings, he worked on various legal and operational matters that affected the firm’s daily operations.

Before joining Marathon, Mr. Florio was a regulatory specialist in Seward & Kissel LLP’s Investment Management Division and an attorney for the Investment Funds Group at Sidley Austin LLP.  At Sidley Austin and Seward & Kissel, Mr. Florio represented many leading financial institutions, helped register broker-dealers and investment advisers, and advised private funds on compliance, legal, regulatory, formation, and operational matters. He began his career in Bronx County, New York as an assistant district attorney after graduating from Fordham University School of Law, with honors, in 1995.  Mr. Florio also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Consumer Economics from Cornell University and is a member of the New York State Bar Association.


Stephen Fox

Steven Fox is the founder and CEO of Veracity Worldwide. Veracity has offices in New York, London, and Singapore, and a global network of regional advisors. He regularly advises business leaders worldwide on political and corruption risk issues in emerging markets with a particular focus on sub-Saharan Africa. He has extensive experience in the mining, energy, and telecommunications sectors and has presented at the World Economic Forum, the World Bank, and the Harvard Business School.

In July 2013, his anti-corruption advisory work in Guinea was profiled in The New Yorker magazine. Prior to founding Veracity, Steven served as a US diplomat in Burundi, France, Washington, and Algeria. Steven holds degrees from Princeton, Cambridge, and INSEAD, and speaks French.
