Steve is Vice Chairman of Omega Advisors, Inc., a New York based long/short equity hedge fund. He joined Omega in 1999.
Steve became a limited partner of Goldman, Sachs & Co. at the end of 1998. Before that, he was Goldman Sachs’ partner-in-charge of the Global Investment Research Department and Co-Chairman of the Investment Policy Committee. He became a partner in 1986 and a managing director in 1996. Prior to joining Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 1977, he was a manager of the Common Stock Department at Prudential Insurance Company. He was a member of the editorial board of the Financial Analyst Journal and has published many articles in financial publications. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the New York Society of Security Analysts and was a Trustee of the Securities Industry Institute. For 16 consecutive years ending in 1994, Steve was a member of the Institutional Investor “All-America Research Team”. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Mount Sinai Hospital as well as on the Investment Committee. Steve is a member of the Investment Committee for the UJA-New York Federation. Steve received an M.S. in finance from the University of Illinois in 1972 and a B.A. from Rutgers in 1970. |
