Beste Portnoff is principal and head of operational due diligence at Bessemer Trust Co. N.A. She oversees the operational risk reviews of all the external hedge fund and long-only investment managers within Bessemer’s investment programs.
Prior to joining Bessemer Trust in 2005, Portnoff was a hedge fund analyst at 3G Capital (formerly Synthesis Asset Management) in New York focusing on operations and back office risk assessments of current or prospective hedge fund investments. Prior to this, she held financial analyst positions at Global Securities (USA), Inc. in New York, Premier Farnell U.K. in Chicago and Kocbank Investment Banking Inc., in Istanbul, Turkey.
She earned a BA in Economics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and a MA in Economics from New York University.
