FY2023 was a challenging period for some of the largest endowments as most underperformed their benchmarks and experienced weaker results than smaller endowments. Of those that have released results so far (through Dec 4), only one has pierced 10% on the upside and only two have surpassed their one-year benchmarks.
We have included 34 individual endowment write-ups and a summary table based on publicly disclosed information which typically includes the returns for FY2023, FY2022 and FY2021; three-, five-, 10- and 20-year annualized returns; endowment asset size; allocation and returns by asset class; and the chief investment officer or equivalent.
